Tomorrow morning I’m going to go to one of the many camera fairs in Tokyo. I’m curious to know what you all would search for? Anything specific to japan or maybe some rarities that are more common here in japan??

Personally I’m going to be looking for a summicron 35 pre asph, Leica M2 or M3, Minolta autocords, Fuji GA645.

Anyway let me know what you would hunt for!!

- bronica d
- pre-war exakta 66
- pre-1960's konica and minolta
- anything kowa or rittreck
- anything panoramic or stereoscopic
- modern ltm lenses made by konica, ricoh, avenon/kobalux, pentax, minolta
- ms-optics lenses
- olympus pen
- new old stock parts: plates, prisms, rangefinder assemblies, circuitry, etc.

Tenth Shinjuku Camera Expo
Takashimaya Dept. Store 11F, Shinjuku
August 15-21, 2018
10:00 AM to 6:00 PM (last day until 4:00 PM)

It's been a couple of years since I attended one of the department store camera fairs. Take your calculator... as an option pick up a business card and visit the shop after the show or later in the year as asking / show prices can be on the high side.

I normally look for accessories... and hopefully run into old friends.

Great way to escape the heat for a couple of hours... maybe snatch up a few rolls of Neopan 100 at one of the big Camera shops - then have a nice tempura lunch with a cold beer... enjoy.

Not a bad idea Shimokita!!! I usually try to go to a lot of the stores in person in Tokyo so I’m more curious about all the folk coming up from Kansai. They seem to be bringing some great Minolta rarities with them!

The accessories are always my favorite thing to pick through! I’ve picked up so many good straps from these things for under 500 yen.

Aizan thats a great list!!! I did scope out a good shop that had a good number of ms-optics lenses and they are gorgeous. One of these days I’m going to pull the trigger and get one of them.

I did end up picking up a Minolta Autocord cds III for a steal but the Olympus pens were a plenty and quite tempting as well.

But if anyone else is curious I would sa, I wouldn’t go into one of these things
Expecting great prices on the big named gear like leica, contax, etc But there are a few good deals.

Thanks everyone!

You can probably find just about anything you want. Back in the late 80's to early 90's buyers were over here in the US at camera shows across the country for the express purposes of buying collector cameras and shipping them back to Japan as collectors over there were buying everything they could get their hands on, so a lot of really nice classic camera inventory left this country. I remember the ads they used to place in the printed version of Shutterbug magazine "buy only", for subsequent sale in Japan.

Since then, economic conditions have changed and I would imagine a lot of that stock is "re-surfacing" for new buyers.
