Have a strange incompatibility issue between my Lumopro LP 180 flash and one of my Olympus 35SP rangefinders. With this combo, the flash fires only about one third of the time with the flash mounted on the hotshoe, connected with a pc sync cord, or both. The LP180 flash seems to work perfectly with multiple other cameras, so it doesn't seem that there is anything wrong with the flash. But strangely, there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the 35SP either, as it fires my Vivitar 285 and Nikon SB800 flashes perfectly. It is just the combo of the LP180 and 35SP that have problems. Anyone ever encounter this problem?

None of the other 3 SP cameras have any problem triggering the LP180. The camera with the problem works fine with other flashes. I could simply ignore it, but I really like using the LP180 with the 35SP's flashmatic control, and am really curious/stumped by this incompatibility.

IIRC the 35SP has a switch in the PC socket. These switches (actuated by a pin inside the socket) are very vulnerable to dirt and oxidation, and often need cleaning.
