Ambitious, but rubbish
Interesting documentary right now on military history channel, about the photojournalists who covered the Vietnam conflict. It will be shown a few more times tomorrow.

Pretty well done, though a bit odd there was no mention of Capa.

I remember a few years ago they made a movie called The Road to Freedom loosely based on Sean Flynn and Dana Stone as well as a movie that was in development about Dickey Chapelle that was supposed to star Jennifer Aniston.

That's because Capa wasn't in Vietnam.

Capa was killed in Vietnam when the French were fighting there--before we took our bite at that apple.

That's right. it was called the Indo-China war I think.

Great film, thanks for sharing. So, has anyone here seen the "Requiem" book mentioned?

... yes, very strange ... I'd have thought Capa's death was a perfect introduction to the subject

As noted, Capa was indeed in Vietnam while it was part of French Indo-China. Since the program began by spending a considerable amount of time discussing a French photographer working at Dien Bien Phu (1954, the same year Capa died), it seemed a rather startling oversight.

"Requiem" was published in 1997 and is an incredible collection of photos by and stories of the PJs who were killed in Indo China from the time of the French through the American involvement.

Thanks for sharing. I LOVE this era, not the war itself, but these years.
