On Nov22, I ordered a kit of Natural Grain Kid leather in black for my M6. And few scratchpad for film and digital M.
I tried to contact them but no emails back. Anyone got same experience and what's the outcome?

M6 has been naked for a month!

He took his time when I recovered my M3... and I think that was in 2006. In the end, I got not one but two kits in the mail. Morgan (that's his name) said he was sorry about the delay in sending me the (then) $17.00 cover, so he added one more in case I got another M3.

In other words, brace yourself, sit down and wait. 🙂

When Russ was fixing my GS, I had him order some grain kid leather for me and it arrived to him, I believe, in 2-3 weeks.

The leather is fantastic, btw.

First time it was very quick though that was for an inexpensive camera. My second time for an MP...nothin in almost 4 weeks. I'm still waiting but, he does say on the website Leica and the such take a while to receive. I ordered it knowing, so I wait. I'm sure it will be on the way soon.

Par for the course, in my experience. Occasionally, things come fast, but usually its a long wait with minimal replys to emails.

If you can find what you want with Aki-Asahi, you will get it much faster, but he has a more limited selection.

Its always amazing to me how some of these people (Morgan, DAG) can get away with being so customer unfriendly, but when there are few options, you either tolerate it or go without...

Morgan is a tad slow, but you have to appreciate the product. I was afraid he had skipped town or worse, but eventually I received the covering for my Rollei Automat.

I couldn't have painted the covering on better.

With this guy, patience is the answer the product is really good.

Waiting for covering from Morgan right now. I have dealt with him in the past and he is 100% honest and helpful. Don't recall that service was slow.

I've only ordered once, about 6 weeks ago for a "Contax black" composite leather for a Contax 137 MD I got here on the classifieds, and it was 7 days from email order to receipt. Either good service or I just got into one of the down periods for his day job. However, he may not have all types of leather on hand at a given time, and perhaps he waits on suppliers, too. Admittedly, I'd be anxious, too if it had already been several weeks.

i am waiting as well.
ordered nov. 24
e-mailed for the status dec. 13
no response yet.

not the first time that i see bad customer service from the home of the brave. i won't do any transactions there any longer.

i guess i just write it off and contact aki-asahi.

Funny, I had a great CS experience with them (from cameraleather in particular; the USA being a bit too varied to stereotype). They even sent a sample of some other material I was considering. Given that it is the middle of the holiday season in the States, patience might be warranted. http://cameraleather.com/cameraleather email notice.htm

I will likely do business with Aki-asahi at some point due not to a better impression (their website issues are a concern), but rather due to their having some exclusive products.

There are several other threads regarding this particular vendor. They all seem to offer the same conclusion: some people get their material quickly. Some don't.

And that was my experience, as well.
