Would anyone have a DK-17M eyepiece magnifier handy and be able to tell me whether it works in reverse on a big eyepiece to reduce the image?
I used to have one of these when I had a D700, but of course, it's long gone!
Thanks!

Dante, the DK17M is convex/concave when following the light path TO the eye, so it would stand to reason that you could take the element/s out of the housing and reverse them for a reduced image.
I used to use the DK17M but both the cameras I had outfitted with them were stolen. I do remember cleaning one on my D2x when I was in dusty New Mexico and thought the design was cool. The convex side is weak, almost planar but the concave side is stronger. I don't know if it is a single element in the magnifier or a doublet.
Hope this helps a bit, in theory.

Yes it does. Checked it on my F6.
