I chose the old Canon 19mm 3.5 lens for some photos taken at Pensacola Beach a few days ago when there was very dense fog in the morning. The low contrast 19mm lens may be a suitable lens for such images. It seems to me that careful prints may be the better way to capture fine details compared to getting scans.

Very, very nice images, Raid. I sure do miss my old 19/3.5 Canon! I haven't shot enough with my "new" 21/3.4 Super Angulon to know what its capabilities are with color.

The vignetting certainly "fights" with the composition on the sandy beach shots. But the other shots, it's still there, but it really enhances the composition, if anything!

The fog was so dense that it was rather difficult to drive that morning. After dropping off my daughters at their school, I kept on driving downtown until I reached Joe Patty's Seafood Store [ships], followed by a visit to Pensacola Beach. After two hours, the fog was still there. It was my first day off work this season, and I made sure that I took photos.

The vignetting is obvious because of the broad expanses of even tones in those beach scenes! Get into a wooded area or an interior shot with mixed window light with some lamps, lots of confused shadows, and you'll never see the vignetting.

I agree with what you said, Al. The open space and white sand make vignetting more obvious. The Canon seems to "shine" when the sun is shining!

Looks good! I like the vignetting. My Canon 19mm f3.5 is getting a tightening-up of the front-end, and a CLA, at Essex Camera in NJ right now. How do you like the 20mm Russar finder I sent you? Your framing looks to be right-on.

Hi Dan,
I have been using the 20mm that you sold me. It fits the Canon P well, but it does not fit very well the Bessa T or L. Their flash shoe seems to be smaller.
