I know I'm supposed to be selling gear and reducing the no of toys that I have, but I just could not resist a trade for a minty example of this lens :)

Does anyone have experience of using it?

Also, what construction is it? I was told that it is a Sonnar, but the info I have seen on the web suggests that it has 7 or 8 elements, which is more than a Sonnar. mine is from the 2nd batch, so early 1960s. It even came with the correct hood and a slimline filter.

As you might expect, I'm currently burning a test film......

John,

This is a horrible lens.
Don't worry; I will buy this piece of junk from you :)

Regards,
Raid

the Canon 35/1.5 is not a Sonnar formula lens, the 50/1.5 was.
the 35/1.5 was a good hi speed 35mm of the late 1950s/ early 1960s

It is a collector's lens more than a user's lens. The Canon 35mm/1.8
or 35mm/2.0 would be better as a user lens.
