Canon .95 for Leica LTM

I had the worst kind of idle thought the other day: I see on ebay that one can pick up a Canon 7 for about the same money as an LTM>M adapter, and I was wondering if anyone has ever tried to pull the lens mount off a Canon 7 and fit it on a screw mount Leica. Then the normal, not TV, .95 50mm lens would presumably click right on. Not thinking, for the moment, of finder blockage, or clearance with various LTM appendages, it seems like an idea. . . of sorts.
 
Yes, mdarnton, you can ignore clearance with various LTM appendages right up until you try to mount the lens. Then you will find that there is interference between the lens and the slow speeds dial. Bummer. However, if you remove the slow speeds dial or machine away part of the knob and not use slow speeds or get a body with no slow speeds to begin with, it is probably doable.
