I just got a Canon 9950F but am having a hard time getting negatives scanned.
I filled the 35mm negative film holder with 5 6-frame strips, detached the protective sheet from the scanner, stuck the holder in, and fired up Photostudio 5.5 and Scangear.
The problems is, it thinks that I want to scan a print.
All I can choose is "Platen" for the input source; the "netative" option is not there.
If I go on with preview, I get an image of the whole scan area including the film holder. :bang:
Has anyone experienced a similar problem?
Thanks in advance.

It turns out I haven't connected the cable connecting the top and the body.
With it connected, it now works as it should.
