Took the old gun up in the mountains to see how it would do. Could have used a 1A filter, but I wasn't thinking too much, just shooting a test roll to check out the camera functions.

Not sure if I'm going to keep it. I like the fact you can put it into manual mode, but I just never got comfortable while shooting it. I guess I need to shoot it in Auto once to see if that is better.

Nice images. I had a QL17 for a while along with the little flash in the early 90's. I used it as a P&S for parties and light travel. Always a fun and reliable little camera. It was also the inspiration for my first digital camera which was a Canon G.
Thanks for posting.

Ahem, this is the old original QL-17, not the G III. Nothing little about it but the rangefinder patch.

The old QL17 has made it to Pennsylvania where a friend of mine will give it a good home. I cleaned out the finder, and later found out that the meter is designed to cut out when in manual mode. Thought it was broke. At least he'll be able to shut off the meter circuit that way, and he shoots a lot of stuff using 'Sunny 16'. That will come in handy with the Argus A2B that also made the trip.
