I was wandering about one of my local camera stores today and noticed a strange little fixed lens rangefinder. I don't know anything about the Canon models so can someone shed some light?
It has a fixed 40mm 2.8 lens, rangefinder, but no apparent exposure control. On the lens there are sliding tabs to set the day/month/year. This one was currently set for the summer of 1983! The guy at the counter knew nothing about it.
They're asking $70 CDN. Any thoughts?

I would guess its a Datematic, probably with the same lens as on the Canonets.
