Canon hood for canon 50mm 1.2 RF lens

The last one I saw the asking price was €220 (near $300). I bought a generic 55mm hood instead ($9).

USA Price is about $125 with case..........

..........but why throw your money out the window for such a impractial hood, the YASHICA ELECTRO 35 57mm clamp on hood works perfect and makes the f1.2 lens look almost like a 0.95 🙂 ~ I love that lens hood and it costs like $20 or less.....

I got mine off of eBay 4 years ago for $60 - mint shape with case. $100-$150 are the recent prices that I have seen for CLOSED auctions.

The one I use is the Olympus metal shade for the 55mm f/1.2 OM lens. It is 55mm screw in and works great. On my M3 it doesn't block the viewfinder much.

Have to be careful with screw-in hoods- some will cause vignetting at certain apertures. Try to find a hood that flares out pretty fast to minimize the issue. The vignetting issue is the reason that Canon made low-profile 55mm filters for this lens. Clamp-on may be the best choice, although screw-in are much more secure.
