I'm looking for a source to buy a drive cover on the base of the camera body the one that rewinds the film for a Canon New F1 cant find any on the big auction site, any ideas ?
Cheers,

That's nearing the price of a used F-1N

Now you know why that cover is missing on all of them... :)

More seriously, the new F1 seem to be not quite that cheap any more - I managed to get one for little more than that years ago, but these times seem to be over.

Hi Fraser,

The New F1 (the best 35mm SLR i've used or owned) is expensive nowadays and I don't think you could easily find the cover. If you can't find it, the best you can do is to fit a power winder on your F1, or otherwise put some black electrician tape. Which will seal the hole perfectly.

Otherwise enjoy your New F1, we F-1N users need to support each other :)

The price isn't all that different from a nice F3. I did go into my local camera repair shop today and managed to get the other covers so I have two cameras one with all of the covers missing and the other complete, that must be quite rare ;)

There used to be a eBay seller "procamerarepair" that made and sold replicas, but he is gone without a trace (at least from eBay Germany).

Well, that's a very overpriced Nikon F3 then. I've owned both cameras and I sold my F3 as part payment for buying the F-1N 1984 LA Olympics edition.

The Canon is a much better machine than the F3 in my view. On the other hand i like the Nikon F2 and also the F.
