Canon QL 17 GIII lens

Hi i finally found a QL 17 GIII, the body is really MINT but the lens is a little bit scratched 🙁 , the seller told me that there is no problem with it and he´s been using it and if i want i could try it out to know if it works good.
The question is what kind of test can i make to be sure that the lens is really OK? What film is the best to make the test?

Shoot up close and at a distance wide open to check for focus, shoot into the light to check for flare. It's good if you can shoot the same situations with a clean lens that you know provides good quality to compare.
