Canon screw mount on M bodies

Hi! I have a 50 1.5 that i had used on a leica iii which works fine with infinity focus, but when i try it on my m3 it cannot go to infinity, i tried a few adapters but still does not work. My other M mount lenses works fine on my m though... Whats the problem of the lens??

Do your other lenses focus to infinity on your M3? I'm trying to isolate the problem here, is it the M3 or the lens.

Are you screwing the lens all the way into the adapters, and do the adapters give proper spacing with other screw-mount lenses?

Is it a Leitz brand Adapter?

yes my other M mount lenses can focus to infinity... and i do screw the lens in the adapters fully.... all 3 of them.... they have different infinity focus... some closer to infinity... some further away.... very weird....

If you are using non-Leitz adapters from eBay this could be your problem. Quality control is lacking on most..

Do you have other LTM lenses you can test? Like the others though, I suspect it is a problem with the adapters.

i used a voightlander one too.... didnt work... and i just have 1 ltm lens..

Could be the lens needs to be adjusted for correct infinity focus. Sometimes older lenses are out of whack. A competent camera repair person should be able to tell.

it was just cla-ed ... but still have the problem... oh well i tried sanding down one adapter to make it go infinity... lets hope it works... need to finish the roll to tell...

just got my pics back... well its front focusing wide open at it's closest distance... i have sanded down the adapter and the lens can go to infinity... is it the len's design or still the mount? i checked my other M lenses to they work fine
