So I've searched and have to no avail come to a solution.
I've passed the front element and am now at the central element and was able to remove the first lens, but there's one last lens that's blocking the shutter blades. I'm afraid I can't go any further and I see the notches for lens spanners on the next portion but I hear people mentioning drilling. I approached it using the rubber tip as recommended on Y.A.S.C but still to no avail.
Any solutions? I know dmr has done some major surgery and I'm afraid I might have to do that as well. Or anyone know some practical approaches at going from behind? I see what I need to unscrew but what tools to fit that are out of my reach. I don't have any drills/dremels or anything so hopefully someone has some creative suggestion.
Thanks in advance!

I use a set of needle nosed pliers, fine tipped. I bent the tips in a bit so that they could reach around and grab the spanner slots.

They are there for a reason.
A standard lens spanner will not work on the Canonet, there is not enough room to reach in without taking more of the barrel apart. That is why I use the needle-nosed pliers. It works. I have several optical spanners with an assortment of tips. The pliers have always worked for me, on about 12 Canonets.
