HI All,
Someone has asked me what the letters on some late 60's Canon lenses mean. On the Canonet and Demi models amongst the information on the front of the lens there is the letters SH, SE, and SD. At first I presumed that it may refer to the number of Elements/ Groups that Canon had used in the cameras but there is no pattern.
So far I have a
Demi C with a .............SD....... 5 element/ 3 group............ 28mm f/2.8 lens.
Demi EE with a ..........SH........5 element/ 3 group.............28mm f/2.8 lens.
Demi S with a ............SH........6 element/ 4 group............ 30mm f/1.7 lens
Demi EE17 with a .......SH........6 element/ 4 group ............30mm f/1.7 lens
Canonet QL17 with a ..SE.........6 element/ 5 group............ 45mm f/1.7 lens
Canonet QL19 with a ..SE.........5 element/ 4 group .............45mm f/1.9 lens
There are others.
Any Help would be most appreciated.
Cheers
Peter
