What a great film! I think I've found a personal favorite for the Canonet, particularly for portraiture. A few more photos can be seen by clicking my photo blog, and I still have lots more to scan.

I know the fence was shot at f/2.8 @ 1/500th, and I'm pretty sure the girl was too but I can't remember exactly.

The wedding/portrait films (Portra from Kodak, 160S, 160C, 400H, and 800Z from Fuji) are all great. They are really the best C-41 films each vendor can make, and they are all scanner-friendly.

NPS160 has been a favorite for me, and I expect I'll like its recent replacement called 160S as well. These films seem to handle mixed light quite well.

What...was your attention distracted or something? 😀

One of the things I'm working on is figuring out which color films for which cameras, lighting etc. Very new to film shooting as opposed to my long 3 year stint with digital 🙄 Posts like this one help alot!

That's a nice shot. And you're right, it seems to handle the lighting very well. Although, the blur on the woman's head reminds me of those photos on the move The Ring. 😛

Naw, I just have a bad habit of not writing down my settings. Besides, she's young enough to be my daughter!

Yep, I'm somewhat new to film too, which is why I post shots from my Canonet using different films. Unlike some of these guys who have been shooting for years and seem to know the various characterstics of different films, I'm just beginning to learn myself.

Thanks, Ray! The head and hand movement blur is due to the slow shutter speed, about 1/4 sec with my arms braced on the stair bannister, 35 f2 Biogon-ZM wide open.

Edit: Had to look up the movie The Ring, since what first came to mind was Richard Wagner's popular 4-part opera “The Ring of the Nibelung”. Oh, well, now I'm more informed! 🙂[SIZE=-1]

Doug, you haven't seen The Ring?? If you like freaky films like me, you'll love the The Ring.

The Ring II was good, but ya kinda knew what to expect after seeing the first one. Still, it should be seen along with the original.
