I recently post this thread in the Canon RF forum.
Purchased not long, a New Canonet QL-17, no G-III, 40/1.7. As I understand it's the L model, as it's equipped with a battery check button. On the back of the camera near the serial number it states "Made in Japan". From my knowledge the G-III was made in Taiwan.
Trying to understand the market value for those Canonets, do I have a special piece in hand or just a beautiful go anywhere rangefinder?
Not a promise, but i hope to post some pics once I get it back from the lab.

I have two GIII cameras, one (chrome) made in Taiwan, the other (black) made in Japan.
No real difference between the two except for the color.
