I was having problem deciding which flat bed scanner to go for yesterday before I went down to the local computer centre.

I have narrowed down to either Epson 4990 or the Canosan 9950F before I depart.

Upon arriving at the shop I have no choice but to purchase the Canon immediately as I was offered a new one at US$255.00

Is it only in Hong Kong that we are getting this 'super' bargain price or is it a worldwide price reduction by Canon?

The salesman told me that few months ago they were still selling them at over US$350.00

Amazon sells it cheapest at $338, and $0 shipping (I'd probably have to pay california sales tax 7.75%). The next up was about $350 through a shop on pricegrabber.com.

I'm hoping more price drops occur this week! Isn't there some photo show coming up at the end of feb?
