I'm testing Capture One pro as a long term alternative to Lightroom.
My usual set-up is that I store my raw files in a home NAS, and the catalog file on my notebook (Macbook Pro). I work off the home wi-fi connection to the NAS. Lightroom is quite ok with this set-up, but Capture One seems to be intolerably slow.
Does anyone else use CO on a NAS have similar issues? It seems that CO was designed for tethered use, so it may not be optimized at all for NAS.
I'm not particularly unhappy with Lightroom, but there is a certain "flatness" to it's digital rendering that requires work to overcome. Also looking at other options like Photo Ninja.
