With the hood removed, the 35mm Biogon looks even smaller. It is pretty flare- resistant; so the hood isn't mandatory (if you have a filter to protect the front element).

BTW- nica cases. Luigi?

Just got mine last Thursday. Shot a couple rolls of Fortepan 200 thru it this weekend. Used it on my CL instead of my MP for even more compactness. Performed like a champ and I really like the ergonomics. Fit me perfectly in my style and how I like to hold/balance the camera, focus the lens, and change apertures.

This lens and my 50 Summilux and I think I'm in ecstacy.

Oh, and your photos illustrate exactly why I got the 35/2 Biogon and why I may be selling a 35/1.2 Nokton that I only recently got. The Nokton performs beautifully and the speed is nice. But I found the lens, while not all that big compared to SLR lenses, is simply TOO big for RF use. I mean, why use my rangefinder with such a lens? I could just haul out the Contax SLR and use that. But like I said this Biogon on my CL (with soft Luigi case!) is simply tiny. If I need the speed I'll load up some Tri-X rated at 1200-1600 and develop it in Diafine (a combo I really like).

Do you mean a ZF? Because your other camera looks like an FM3A -- I've got one too. Great camera, and I've been wondering about the ZF lenses. But your excellent picture illustrates why I will leave the wide angles to a rangefinder.

Monz, is the 35 your preferred focal length? I enjoy your work with the zm 35.

Hi Thomas,

Thanks. Before I bought the ZI 35mm Biogon, 50mm was my preferred focal length. Now it is a toss up between 35mm and 50mm. Certainly, these two are now my most frequently used lenses.
