I just picked up a very sweet GW690III from KEH and would like to keep it in "EX+" condition. For my SLR/DSLRs I settled years ago on the Lowepro "top-load" style-holster bags which I find super-useful when hiking as they keep the camera out of the way while not getting in the way when I need to access it, plus some have a weatherproof cover and they have some padding to guard against knocks. I also keep my cameras in these bags when not in use.
But... I cannot find anything even close to the right size to take the width of the GW. The GA645 goes neatly in an Apex 120AW but that's too shallow front-to-back to accommodate the lens on the 690.
I know a lot of folks do not use cases at all but much of my photography is out in the sticks and anything that can keep dust/grit/spray/etc. off the camera is a great help (especially of there's room for a few rolls of film to save digging around in the backpack).
Any suggestions on a suitable case/bag would be greatly appreciated!

I have carried my GSW690 with my Courierware bag after the insert has been taken out. It sits flat in the bottom of the bag with plenty of room for a couple of packs of film and the meter as well.

Thanks - I will check it out!

I use a Lowepro mini trekker for my fujica GW690. It fits my camera, flash and accessories, a few boxes of film and my light meter. A lot more will fit into it as well, it's pretty small but will hold everything you need.

I think I found it!
This may sound weird but it looks like the Lowepro Lens Case 5s will fit the GWIII - the back side of the case is flat and reinforced so the camera should slip in vertically, and it has plenty of padding and loops for a shoulder strap.
I have one on order and will report back - with pics if it really does fit!

p.s. if it doesn't fit, well, then I have a case for a huge lens

Ta-Daaa!

The LC-5S arrived today and the GW690III fits almost like it was made for it
The case looks huge (for a lens case) but is not much larger than a medium-size "topload zoom" holster-style bags. It's well reinforced and padded and has plenty of attachment points on the (flat) back for straps, and room for a few rolls of film in the space under the lens and a mesh pocket in the lid for an extra filter or lens cap:
