These have taken a lot of abuse from my pocketing and nasty bag habits, over the last four years. Both are indispensable to my shooting habits. I'd like to keep them working for as long as possible.
Does anyone know how one could either find a good leather case, or could is there a good guide for making your own? Something like these ever-ready ones for the GR-D are similar to what I'd like to get, but a well made purse type would also be nice.

Have to say I like the first one much better than any of the others. I just slip mine in a pocket or have a few small belt bags they slide into easily even with a finder. There seems to be a large set of small shops building this sort of thing in the Pac Rim. Nothing like that over here in the US. Interesting potential market, half cases and full cases for P&S. The high end cameras seem to have a long enough life it might not be bad as a business, not sure makers change the outside of the less expensive ones to make that worth the effort.
Thanks for sharing, very cool.

I would be interested in being able to hand sew my own if it's possible.

Leather, hand sewing and small are three terms that can not be used at the same time. Machines really make a world of difference when you work on something as thick as a case.
I have another idea I need to flesh out a bit, thanks for the kick. If it works I will give you the second one.

That would be rad.
It's a bit akward to shoot a Leica with a Natura / GR1 strapped to your arm, hence why I'd like a half case.

I'm pretty sure that Kojima-Shouten will ship to the US.. have you emailed Mr. Kim at Luxecase? I've bought straps from them, arrived at my door about 72 hours later.
As of last week, we have a sewing machine in-house! We're currently kicking around several bag/strap designs, so adding some case ideas into the fray wouldn't be a bad thing. Either of you want to send me some type of template (since i don't own either of those cameras)? Bill, maybe we discuss over dinner soon?

Kojima Shoten is great, and the studs they add are an added bonus.
Luxcase is way over my budget.
