Hi all
Do the G1 & G2 use the same ERC or are they different sizes ?
I looking for one for my G2 but sometimes descriptions on "that" auction site are a bit vague ( as in - "fits G & G2" ) so I thought I'd ask the folks who'll know.
I have it in the Optech rangefinder cover at present but I feel it doesn't offer enough protection when its rattling around in the bottom of my crumpler.
Thanks
Ben

Hi Ben -- The G2 is 7mm longer than the G1, so it takes a different ERC. The G1 uses the GC-11 case while the G2 takes the GC-12. I think both use the same multiple case fronts, though, depending on how long a lens you need to enclose. Living dangerously, I don't have an ERC...

Hi Ben, I don;t know if this applies to your query or not, but I use my Contax G1 leather bag for my G2 kit, and it nicely accomodates the G2, 28mm, 40mm and 90mm lenses as well as the flash, filters and extra batters. Just keep the 40mm (or whatever small lens you have) on the camera. It will sit in the top compartment, lens pointing downwards. No need to buy a new G2 bag. If this thread refers to an actual plastic hardcase, then.....nevermind!

Thanks to you both for your replies. I was after the ERC but after looking at the ridiculous price ( particularly in Australia ) I bought one of the Safrotto satchels. It's worked out well as an everyday bag as it fits all the usual stuff ( phone, lunch, book etc ) + the G2 or Bessa R.
