I had a couple of questions and you might have a few.

Fujifim X100S:

Have your engineers been working with Adobe, Apple and others from day one on RAW support, or should we expect another six months to one year delay prior to third party support?

U.S. release date?

Plustek 120 Scanner:

Release date?

Samples?

I seriously doubt Fuji employees are going to share anything concrete about their working relationship with Adobe. Perhaps I will be proven wrong.

So far I have seen no evidence that the XTRANS CFA has changed. That is the pixel geometry appears to be the same. Adobe has already stated they are working with Fuji. While Fuji should have anticipated the importance of working early on with Adobe, Fuji didn't do that. Instead Fuji apparently assumed users would embrace SilkyPix. This was obviously short-sighted.

Adobe will do better. The only question is when.

First, a recent post states that the Plustek (Europe) is shipping next week.

Regarding the XTrans sensor. If the addition of the phase detection pixels does not change the RAW conversion software, then the X100s should ship and we should be able to get some good RAW results. I think that my question was posed with the assumption that this is a new sensor and as such the RAW conversion might not be the same and asking the question expresses both concern and a hope for an answer. Not really asking for the formula for making Coca Cola, but Fuji has played things pretty close to the vest, so your comments are well taken.

Maybe I can help....I attended CES specifically to attend the FUJI press event. Attached is a link to the story I published for Examiner.com the Los Angeles edition. I am currently in Dallas working on a different project.

Ok, as this was an invitation only event the attendance was limited a total of 150 seats and then another 100 for standing room. The presentation was very good lasted about 45 minutes...but did not go head to head with the issue of divulging exactly who they were working with on software. The comments from Director of World Marketing Mr. Toshi Iida was that they were working on several fronts and groups in the software applications. But would not say specific who or what these applications were...but that they would make owners on several levels happy.

So Mr. Go Miyazak the CEO for Fuji Film USA who opened the event made it clear they are working on several levels to deal with customer needs. I would also suggest to anyone out there...regardless of market, UK, Canada, USA, "Down under" you name it, that Fuji is very interested in customer needs and feedback. So fire off any and all questions on your wants and needs...even if you dont get a specific answer..they are paying attention.

Fuji will be coming to market in 2013 several new lenses for the X-1Pro and Xe-1 platforms. Fuji has offers a "M Mount" adaptor which works for most Leica, Zeiss and VC mount lenses. Not all but most. We also work with Adobe and I am talking to them about being proactive with Fuji & Samsung, as well as others on software applications development. So that is all I can tell you from first hand attendance. Best Regards
