have a new enlarger, an omega b600. havent done anyprinting in 2 and a half years. So bear with me, i have forgotten a bit.

I have the enlarger and it came with a used easel with built in borders. Now i have been using it, for my 6 prints, and the following is happeneing.

i have defects in the image. the defects are like loose pet hair. the defects are NOT in the negative as the defects follow with how the paper is loaded into the easel. if i load the paper in perfectly, the defects are in the ballon in the photo. If i leave a gap of 10mm on one corner when installing the paper, the defects are no longer on the balloon.

Because of that I know the defects are not in the tray filter, the negative, the condensor, or the enlarger lens.

I did some inspection of the easel, and noted that the easel surface has crackling in the paint in that general area i can feel with my finger.

Would that be enough to cause these defects?
