I bought this camera for work. It was £50, and was ok for the money.
BUT then I took up kayaking, and since I didn't have the cash for a waterproof camera I used this one. It was not waterproof, but it lasted 18 months anyway, so I can't complain.
My avatar pic was taken with this camera, and this.

Llangorse lake, in the Brecon Beacons.

I now have a Fuji XP waterproof point and shoot. It's good for £100, but really - I prefer a film camera.

1. What's "this" camera?
2. So get a film camera.
3. Are you ok?

1. It was the cheapest Fuji point and shoot digi.
2. I have several, thanks.
3. Fine. And you?

I know they're not great, but these are my best digital shots - I don't visit here much - I'm happier over on the Leica LTM mount forum.

Have fun.
David.

This is very confusing. Which camera(s) are you talking about?
Very confusing?
Really?

The first camera - the £50 Fuji was - a £50 Fuji - I don't know the model. How many £50 Fuji digitals are there out there?
That's the one the pics were taken with.
I mistakenly thought someone may be interested in half-decent pics taken with a cheapie digi camera.

The second camera - the one I use on the kayak now - is a Fuji XP waterproof. But I already said that……….

Thank you for your concern/answers chaps.
Its a whole new world over here, isn't it? :)

I remember my friend having a cheap camera that his father bought him for the school trips. I was always surprised by the good quality pictures it took. His father got it for a few euros (drachmas back at that time)because nobody wanted an old camera like it. On reflection, it was a Konica C35 - they were the cheapest of the cheapest cameras to buy second hand in the early 90's.
They worth much more now.

Thank you for a sensible post!

The cheap Fuji was a digital. Like most cheap digitals - it died.

It's always down to the photographer and the environment. I'm in a coastal town so interesting beach front often...

I've always wanted a weatherproof and/or underwater camera. Picked up a Canon AS1 that gave a few sparks before trespassing.
Seen lots of Nikonos work and that triggers GAS. In the US they are plenty available but here (EU) not so and not that cheap. Instead I picked a classifields Nikon F80, to take everywhere. Shot along the shore and over the water with it, keeping it in my beach backpack. Many AF SLRs go for a song nowadays. Then a friend found a stash of c200 in his shed and good to go for a couple months.

I've never though about those cheap underwater digis and the action cams, I always forget they exist.

The Fuji XP is waterproof to 10 metres. It's not a bad little camera for the price.

£50 isn't cheapie. 40CAD is. :)

40CAD, purchased NiB, Panasonic DMC-FS3 with Leica f2.8 lens.

I quite enjoyed seeing your photo. Very nice & quiet looking place to Kayak.
My stepson was gifted with a "cheap" Fuji digital camera & not being familiar with cameras period is learning about it. As he learns he's beginning to learn what the camera can do & he's taking some nice photos.

Hope that you were not to offended & will post more here. You say you like the Leica LTM forum, I'd love to read about your experience with LTM cameras. I have a 50 elmar but use it on a Zorki 2. I'd love to be able to one day afford a Barnack to put it on.

Ages since I had a boat out on Llangorse Lake.Aren't there leeches there?
Very nice photo despite it being a 'cheap' Fuji.

Hi,

The EXIF says it was/is a Fuji J37

In my part of the world a cheap film camera means under three quid...

Regards, David

I post quite a lot in the film section - mostly LTM. I look forward to reading your posts there.
