will try to be there. it's super busy at leicester square so might be hard to spot each others. can we have a more concrete meetup location?

Not sure if I can make it, but is it going to be a specific camera themed day, rangefinder/film slr, or just 'shoot what you bring'? :)

Hi!
It is "use what you got"! :)

Thanks for that, I'll PM you if it looks like I'll be able to meet up. Now . . . what do I use? . . . S3 . . . OM1 . . . F6 . . . Df . . . oh . . . decisions decisions

Can anyone join in? I live in the wilds of north Essex and there's engineering works on the line down from Ipswich to Liverpool Street - so I'd have to be setting off mega-early to be at Leicester Sq for 10:00. Incidentally, the forecast for sunday is a bit damp (PM) but that could be way off the mark.....

Hi!

Besides the above, a mate and his friend are joining in.

Paul
If you PM me your mobile, I'll do the same. So, in case you arrive later, and I might arrive later as well. we can call each other and find where one is.

Many thanks. PM sent. We have engineering works scheduled on our line every weekend until end the of March, so half the journey is by bus and the rest (from Billericay) on probably a very full train. I will do my best to be there and will text you as soon as I know one way or t'other....

It's in my diary, and I hope to be there, but there are a lot of contingent factors.

And one of those contingent factors has come into play, I'm afraid. My breathing is really quite rubbish at the moment, so I will have to duck out. :bang:

I hope you all have a good time, and get some great shots. I look forward to seeing the results posted on here.

I'll try to get along to future meets.

It was a very nice day until it started raining.

I want to thank Vinh for joining Noel, Jason, Carol and myself.
Pictures will follow in a few days.

Sorry I couldn't join you. The weather was okay, the kit was ready to go and then my car's alternator decided to throw a wobbler. Therefore, I had to deal with that, rather than be out enjoying myself. Oh well, worse things happen at sea, as they say.

All the best. Paul.

Yes, worse things happen!

Yesterday, the worst was when I went to greet Vinh: in 30 years it was the 2nd time that I remember dropping my camera on asphalt.
As a testament to the durability and toughness of the OM-1, the only thing it got was a new dent on the baseplate and I carry on using it for the rest of the day.

Well, here are some from CNY 2015.

This is all from the parade I could see:

I was more interested in the crowds:

There were also plenty of stalls:

Some were just going about their daily lives:

We saw lots of cameras:

These iphonographers were busy at it:

And this was our group. Sorry for the sneaky from behind!

Someone in the crowd cumplimented me for the OM and pointed to Vinh and said he was "hardcore". Here is Vinh in action with his Rolleiflex:

Our group negotiating some street furniture:

At the end, it was nice to see some taking a different approach to a New Year.
I hope she said "yes":

Thanks Ricardo, its a very nice morning and seeing you and Noah in actions with your super stealth shots. I'm rather very obvious photographing but ppl on the day is very open to snapshots. Hope to have more gatherings in the near future.
