I just received a 2006 Christies catalog showing Leica gear from the Duigenan (?) collection including prices in pounds and dollars. It cost $4.00.
There is another listed on the bay:

Interesting and educational.

I'll post some photos when I get a chance.

Funny, you'd think that with it's stigma among the Leica snobs that they wouldn't put the M5 on the cover...
Rare version perhaps?

Evidently not everybody agrees that the M5 has a homely look. A few even think it is the best design of a 35 mm ever

Shipping charges are described in the listing but not in the shipping section, so the checkout procedure can't do it automatically - you'll need to ask them to send you an invoice.I just put in a buyitnow but they have no shipping charges with this, anyone else have the same check out?

The M5 seems to be Leica's "black sheep". In its day it didn't go over too well because it was regarded as 'different' from its predecessors. But in true Leica fashion, once it was discontinued, it became a collector's item, and you know what that means price-wise.
The successor to the M5 was the M4-2, which happens to be the one and only Leica I have ever owned. It, too, has been denigrated as not up to the quality of older models, but I wonder how many owners have noticed. Sometimes I think these arguments exist for the purpose of discussion and have little merit to them otherwise.
