Hey there,
in a few weeks I'll leave for a short trip (3 days) to Cologne.
My main interests are "street" and architecture.
Do you have any tips for me what to see and where to go (except maybe from the cathedral, that's clear I think
) ?

If you're arriving by train, you won't be able to miss the Kölner Dom. There's your architecture right there! There are other nice buildings, such as the 12 Romanesque churches of the city centre. There are also some remaining sections of the old walls along the ring road; try:
* Fort X (near Reichenspergerplatz), Ebertplatz, and Hansaring in the north
* Rudolphplatz in the west
* Barbarossaplatz, Kartäuserwall, and Chlodwigplatz in the south
For street, there are always tons of people around:
* the Hauptbahnhof
* the Dom
* Hohestrasse
* Altemarkt and Heumarkt
* along the Rhine (during the weekends, on both sides of the water between the Deutzer Brücke and Hohenzollernbrücke)
* Neumarkt
* Ehrenstrasse-Breitstrasse
These are major shopping and tourist centres, so expect to see many people.
Other places I like to visit when I'm there:
* Zülpicherstrasse and area for the nightlife; near the Uni
* Stadtgarten (park and pub) on the corner of Venloerstrasse and Spichernstrasse
* Brauerei Päffgen on Friesenstrasse (best Kölsch and food in town, in my opinion)
* Friesenplatz for drinks (bonus points if you find the hat-maker's shop in the area)
* Severinstrasse from Chlodwigplatz up to the Altstadt-Sud might be an interesting walk, depending on your tastes
* The chocolate museum (go early, see the museum before the groups get there, and then hit the shop)
My favourite green spaces:
* Stadtgarten park on Venloerstrasse and Spichernstrasse; I proposed marriage to my girlfriend here in December '07 (she said yes)
* The greenbelt between Venloerstrasse and Luxemburgerstrasse, including the Aachener Weiher
* Volksgarten (near Eifelplatz)
I haven't been to many museums in town, but I can recommend:
* Römisch-Germanisches Museum
* Kölnisches Stadtmuseum
* Käthe Kollwitz Museum (recommended by my fiancée)
Cologne is full of little surprises, bits of history and modern life mixed together all over the place. If you have any questions, I can try to help out.

P.S. I like to walk a lot, and for long distances. I comfortably walked all of these places, and much further, from where I was living in the Belgisches Viertel, but you might find yourself wanting to take the train for anything outside the ring road or further south than Zülpicherplatz.
