Hi guys! I have been enviously looking at people's shiny shiny zorkis and feds for a while now and finally decided that I'm going to give my little soviet fotoapparat a wee bath! So my questions are:
what cleaning material should I use? (obviousyl non-abrasive!)
The steel top plate is kinda 'brushed matt finish' so how would I get rid of small scratches from the surface?
What should I do about the nylon covering?
Thanks in advance!

For the lens use ethyl alcohol or Formula MC to clean lenses w/Soft-Tek microcloth or 100% cotton baby diaper, no fabric softener rinsed in distilled water. Use a blower brush not canned air to remove dust. Clean the knobs and metal or plastic parts with non-ammonia glass cleaner using a small nylon stenciler's brush followed quickly by a Q-Tip to suck the cleaner out of tight places. I can't argue with the ArmorAll, but I use a very small amount of Murphy's Oil soap on a clean cloth with good success without making the camera slick or too shiny.
Someday I'll have the courage to take something apart. For now I'm happy if the camera is just basically clean.

Whatever you do don't use one of these fibre glass brush pens, the fibres get everwhere including inside the camera!!!
