I'd like a close-focussing lens to use for portraits with my Mamiya Universal. The 150mm focuses to about 7 feet. Does anyone have the 127mm? How close does it focus? Sample shots?

You might want to look here if you haven't aready http://www.butkus.org/chinon/mamiya/mamiya_press_super_23/mamiya_press_super_23.htm where you will find magnification with the back and extension tubes. Of course, the RF won't work. If I have a chance I will try to look on my 50mm and 250mm tonight for the markings on the barrel for closest focusing.

All normals and wides reach 1m, but not past that - so that will probably be the limit of the rangefinder. Beyond that, there is a extension tube set that IIRC can reach 2:1 with the 100mm's - but that is uncoupled and will need matte focusing.

Thank you both.

With the Super 23 and a 100mm, you can use it in two (non RF) modes. The bellows out with either the lens in normal position or retracted. No RF with these modes though. But you have the Universal so, no go.

A couple of weeks ago, I posted the listings for two extension tube sets on eBay for Mamiya Press, with both priced near $100. They show up on eBay, usually in excellent condition due to lack of usage, all the time.
