Cloudflare - Connection timed out Error code 522

I get this quite often. Is it a vBulletin thing or web server where RFF is hosted? Very painful to connect at times. Happens quite frequently.

Not sure if others get this error.

I have been getting this error message several times a day for months. It is pretty annoying.

I don't get that error, but the response times are often very long. Maybe I move on before the actual timeout.

Once I'm hung I usually try LUF to see if it's my connection. LUF opens instantly.

When posting photos I usually see the "Working" message for 30 seconds or so. I do time out there sometimes.

Same here. Some photos forn my Ultron thread disappeared! Desire to post more photos but I did not manage because of the time out message. Annoying.

It was slow but working until a couple of days ago. Hope someone will work on it.

I get all of the above errors. I checked my upload speed and it is OK. My response time with other servers is fine. If the solution is paying annual dues I am on board. It has to cost money to run this and as it now stands we are all freeloaders.

Yes, I get this often as well, not during the hour but most likely at the top of the hour, especially 10pm and 11pm Pacific time. Typically lasts for 5 or 10 minutes, then back to normal.

Could be a network latency issue. Wonder if we need a poll of geographic locations to help diagnose? I am located in the Northeast USA.

This has been a pretty regular event for a while. Site needs a beefier server.

Seems consistent with aging server hardware under heavy load.

I am in the Pacific Northwest. The problem is confined to RFF. I agree that maybe a server upgrade is the answer. This makes us sound like choosy beggars as we are all riding for free. Hopefully the Head Bartender can put in a new server. Or get a propeller head to tune what he has. Maybe a memory upgrade?

I would be comfortable with an annual fee for this site, there aren't many that don't have a fee. Certainly this is my favorite place to be, time to pony up.

Why would I pay a fee to have my posts ignored when I can do that for free on most other forums? 🙂
