I just rcvd a FED collapsible 50mm/3.5 lens.
It appears that I can collapse the lens into the body, however I'm not sure that it's fully collapsed - I don't want to force it fully for fear of damaging the meter arm.
Which collapsibles other than the CV Heliar 50mm/3.5 will collapse into the CL w/o damage?
Obivously one has to use the lens extended but I'm wondering if I'm tempting "Murphy's Law" by collapsing the lens. I intend to obviously only store the lens while in transit or storage but was wondering if others have similar experience.
I recall reading somewhere (maybe cameraquest) that Leica reocmmended putting dymo tape to prevent fully collapsing the lens into the CL or M5. Does anyone have a link to this reference?

Leica did recommend the use of Dymo tape. I don't know if references will be found as the matter dates from the 1970s. Sensible, I'd say, to use the widest tape that will fit the barrel.
