For the Torontonians here who might get the Toronto Star, there's a short story in today's Toronto Star's travel section on actor Colm Feore who shots Leica & Nikon. It mentions that he's got an M8 now too. In the print edition, you'll see him with a Littman 45. There's also a photo-essay by him of Stratford.

That ticks me off too, Victor. It's not always about talent, it's often about who you know. I love your work. You deserve something like this.

He's rich.. he's famous. I have no doubt about why he got the full page spread. It would have been nicer if they featured some behind the scenes stuff of the plays.

OTOH, what was interesting was this line
Feore carries his cameras with him on his travels, but admits he's "perhaps a little bit excessive. I recently picked a hotel in Montreal because it was close to three camera stores."

So the guy has GAS just like the rest of us :D

ps. anyone else see the DVD extra on "Seabiscuit" with Jeff Bridge's pano shots?

If that's the guy who played Trudeau in that TV movie he's a very good actor. I wanted to smack him.....

I've met him. When he used to work in Vancouver he was in and out of the shops here all the time.
He seems to know his stuff and he's not as "rich and famous" as many of the other celebrity snappers out there, so let's not be too judgemental.
On another note (pun intended) Andy Summers was in Leo's the other day looking at some Contax G gear. Check out his website, I think his stuff is quite good.

That's him... he's also in "Bad Cop, Bon cop". He's sings and dances too.

victor...
your work is great... inspiring. no idea who this actor fella is but i'd like 2 see your work mentioned

Thanks, Frank and John! My original post was when I was in cranky old man mode. I don't really mind wealthy and famous people getting credit for their photos. What they're doing is necessary self-promo.

I remember Colm being about town with wife & kids when I lived in Stratford. Good on him for having a hobby that can balance out the intensity of his career ... and he is an intense person. I have a story about that; when I get a few moments I'll write it up and post it here.

Actually, I think it's a great idea to invite him to a Toronto RFF gathering. My guess is that if his schedule allowed it, he would be very open to the idea. While celebrities such as Colm have to guard themselves from sycophants and "takers", they often also want to be involved with others as "regular guys". OK, so maybe this won't work. The Toronto (and Ottawa/Montreal!) RFF group ain't exactly "regular guys". :D
