In addition to rediscovering a stash of negatives, I also unearthed some slides. A mix of Kodachrome and Agfachrome.

A questions for you Francophile film aficionados:

Is this Eric Rohmer?

(We were told at the time by a bystander that this was Claude Chabrol, but I think this not correct. Anyone know?)

The story: We were coming back into Paris from a bus trip when we came up a film being shot at the Paris Opera House. This gentleman was the director. The scene was rather disturbing, to say the least, seeing the Opera House draped in Nazi flags for the shooting of a period piece.

We were relieved to discover this was only set up for the filming.

Paul, thanks.

The swastikas in this still disturb me today even though I know they were be used for a film set. I can remember the chilling feeling that came over me on seeing these. We asked the bus driver what was going on. He told us to relax, that it wasn't a demonstration, but a film set.
