What would the end results be if you shot color film when using an IR cut filter, had it developed as color, then scanned and post-processed for black & white output?
Reason I ask: I have a Leica m8 and a film body as well. I also have a lot of color film in the freezer. Taking the IR filters off my lenses to shoot film seems more than a hassle to me. But what if I left them on, knowing the final output of the color film would be a b&w image? Would the color cast of the filter cause the converted image look different than if I shot the color film without the filter before post-processing into b&w? Thanks.

I decided to just find out for myself so loaded up a roll and burned through it. Here is the set up: Walgreens branded film, Leica M2, 35mm Summicron v4, UV/IR cut filter, scanned by drugstore.

No adjustments:

Adjustments to remove what I viewed as color cast due to filter:

Quick change to B&W:

To me, using quick white balance and other small color adjustments, the IR/UV filter on film shots can be corrected fairly easily. The B&W conversion (I guess obviously) was not affected by the filter.
