I'm trying to get things ready for my book submission, and I've asked some friends for suggestions on which photos to submit.

One kind of theme I have in mind is two photos, both taken with the same model camera, but 35 years apart. I'm not married to the idea, though. 🙂

Anyway, with the help of some real-world critics, I've selected three kind of finalists and I would appreciate comments from the gang here on which ones, if any, should be the ones I submit ...

The first below "The Old Put" is one that goes way back into history. I'm gonna date this at early fall 1970, and it's one I've always liked. It's of the old abandoned Van Cortlandt Park wayside station. It's really an urban scene, but it has a very bucolic look to it. From what I know, the steel parts of the station still stand, the rest being long gone, and the railroad right of way is now a nature trail.

The second, "Falcon" is actually an indoor scene, of a retro diner in the Ameristar complex in Kansas City. The lighting and colors are highly unusual. There was no enhancement to this at all, other than the usual level adjustments in Photoshop.

The third, "Positively 10th. Street" is one of the first night scenes I did with the QL17 GIII. There's just something about the light from the vintage twinlampers that makes this one.

Anyway, any comments (good or bad) or suggestions would be appreciated. 🙂

Thanks, gang.
