1) RFF does not play well with Explorer 9. Switch to Firefox or Chrome browsers.

2) Registering is only the first stop. You membership email and ID must be validated, which which usually takes 24 hours. Once validated, then you can make posts, place a classified ad, or respond to a classified ad.

3) Take the time to explore the forum categories. Please do your best to post in the most appropriate forum.

4) Classifieds: its important you take the time to read and understand the classified guidelines before placing your ad. Payment for ads is only by Paypal.

5) Underneath your log in ID at the right top of the screen you will see PRIVATE MESSAGE link. This allows you to contact by Private Message aka PM or email other forum members.

Thanks,
Stephen

take a few minutes and read the forum headings...it will save the mods lots of time not having to move threads to the best matching forum...for example...many folks post in the optics forum when asking about a specific lens...that post would go into the camera maker forum of the lens brand...nikon lens question goes to the nikon rf forum and so on...

camera bags, tripods, flash questions has it's own forum as well...

Stephen mentioned the site working best in Firefox or Chrome. I want to add that it works fine in Safari for Mac (I haven't tried the Windows version of Safari yet).

My Posts ?

My Posts ?

The Mods sent me here with this one: Where do I find and click on the button to find "My Posts" ? It's probably obvious but I'm new here and can't find it. Thanks for your patience :)

Go to "quick links" at the top of the screen then click on "my profile" then on the left side of the page you will see "all posts by-----"

Just click your user name and you will see a link to your posts.

Or

Go to "quick links" in the menu bar, and go to "my profile."

I would like to put some items in the classified section.

My newbie question is:
Do my photos need to be in flickr?

Currently I am not using flickr...

In the classifieds, you can upload photos from your computer directly to RFF. In the screen where you write the ad, you'll find the place to upload photos.

If you are uploading full res photos for your classified ad, be patient. Also when responding to a post, feel free to disagree but be polite and please please be reminded that this a photography and gear head forum, so no jamming us on your political or religious views. And to all newbie's welcome to RFF.

Akita,

thanks for the advice.

I will keep my political views and religious leanings away from my posts or classified ads.
