I suppose if sharpness is a priority for you the Leica does have some advantages.
It's a strange comparison though because there's no way an M8 can come close to the overall performance of a raft of currently available cameras that cost a hell of a lot less than a used M8 ... and when you consider what the Leica actually cost new it makes even less sense to compare it to the Fuji.
Seeing the five year old M8 as a viable alternative to an Xpro-1 doesn't work for me ... and I don't really want either camera.

The lenstip photos look much softer than any other samples that have come out, for whatever reason.
Helps me understand corporate skittishness about letting early photos hit the Internet uncontrolled - one set of soft images becomes a furor about the camera producing soft images, etc..

I have to disagree. I think the M8 is a stellar performer. Sure, it might not have the low light performance of current cameras, but it's IQ is superb.

For some reason, the Fuji makes me think that this is close to what Contax would have come up 10 years ago. I bought into the Contax G system because it was supposed to be the platform for a digital G. A phoenix rising?

Check this set out.
Yes, again, check this set out. The x-pro1 photos are not soft by ANY means!

The M8 is an excellent landscape camera. It's like shooting with RVP50.
Those photos from Warsaw taken with the XPro-1 are the best samples I've seen. Tremendous!
