I have a pre-war Contax that has been CLA'd and works fine.I have put B&W film through it and the results are excellent,
I was wondering about its suitability for slide film.
Appreciate any thoughts

Thanks

I ran slide through my II, and late Kiev-4A just fine. If the exposure on the negs looks consistent, odds are that transparencies will do OK.

I have several pre-war and post-war Contax cameras that were overhauled by Henry Scherer. All work just fine with slide film. This shot is a Contax II, 21mm Biogon, Velvia 50. Exposure was 1/500 at f 5.6.

If you wanted to be careful you could borrow or hire a separate meter to check the IIIs, and use /125 or /250, and check that the aperature reflected the setting e.g. I think the 22 setting should be at the end stop exactly.

Or you can try it, I've done this with my similar Kievs they were all ok, I normally point the meter down to avoid seduction by sky.

Probably being careful is best, but you might miss a shot, it is not like sex.
