Contax accessory shoe mount

I have a turret finder marked Zeiss Stuttgart which came with an apparently coated pre war 135 f/4 Sonnar. It seems to be too wide for the IIa/IIIa shoe. Anyone else experienced this and is there an easy work around that doesn't involve a grinder.....

I had a Russian turret finder that wouldn't fit anything. Two minutes with a file, and it did.

Hi David,

Try cleaning the shoes and the outside of the finder's foot with alcohol and a tooth brush. You'd be surprised how little build up of grease/dirt it takes to block these up.

Like the coffee bean, who "although could be made instantly, preferred the old grind", I carefully and slowly reduced one side of the shoe: If the shoe fits, you must acquit. (or something like that).
