Hi there
Ffordes in Scotland are selling off some new old stock Hologon lenses "cheap". They are going for £899 on their website, but they sold me one for £799.
It arrived this morning and I am very excited about using it... What a beautiful lens!
Hope others can make use of this.

Quick advice: Start without using the center filter. If you like the pics and the vignette is minimal as on my Hologon, you may just want to stay filterless ..
I don't even carry the filter in my bag anymore ... And see no adverse effect whatsoever ...

Thanks for the advice. I'll try it without the filter to start with.

The original Zeiss Ikon Hologon Ultrawide was 15mm. That's how you can tell the difference between the old Hologon and the newer G series Hologon.
Awesome lens, by the way -- the original, I mean, and likely the G series Hologon too.

Herr Zorkendorfer (www.zoerk.de) can convert these to M.
The few I know who have directly compared the two (I haven't) have told me that the Voigtländer 15/4.5 is a better lens. Anyone here tried it? It seems hard to believe, but they had no reason to lie to me.
Cheers,
Roger

I've heard that too Roger. Not got any experience personally. I can't mount any other lenses other than G system ones though, so not much point worrying on my part! I think the same company can convert a 15/4.5 but this would make it just as expensive as the Zeiss...
Thanks,
Jack
