You need, yes, need, a Tessar 50/3.5. So much better than the 50/2.8 lens. Shoot it wide open in available darkness and you will learn, oh padawan ;)

Very nice work. The weakness of the pre-war Contax lenses (and any pre-war lens really) is however flare and color response. I was particularly impressed by your 2.8cm F8 black and white shot above at IFC (I know that place well) - it's a fascinating lens, but totally unsuited to color work. Nevertheless, I agree with your moto and working with a Contax is almost a spiritual experience.
