Hello! :D

I want to share my happiness with all of you and show you the results of my weekly exploration with my just-arrived Contax IIIa which I bought from our fellow member David Murphy. The camera had three hours to recover from its transatlantic trip before being put to use ;)

I loaded it with Fomapan 400, that was developed for 8 minutes in LC-29 1+19. The lens used was a Jupiter-3 50/1.5 with UV filter and vented hood.

I'm indeed very happy of the results, most of the photos were measured by the use of the non-coupled camera lightmeter.

For now I'll send just one shot. The remaining photos will be uploaded either later or tomorrow (sunday, europe time) to the microraion project blog. :)

Cheers!
Max

Nice photo Max ... amazing light! (and perfect use of it I might add) What a great combo a Contax and J3 are. :)

Congrats!

Thank youuuuuuuu :)

If only you could see the photos my beginner friend Laurence has taken with my Kiev-2A, it's original J8 and a yellow zeiss jena filter... my photos suck in comparison!

Yes, straight out of the scanner, without post-processing (except dust removal via PolaDSR software).

By the way, thank you for the link from your blog to our project, I'll make sure to link back soon... waiting for my friend to upload yesterday's shots on the blog now. She's a real beginner but she seems to already outbeat me ;)

maybe i'm a good teacher ;)

Cheers,
Max

Hi all, the photos are online (mine and Laurence's ones) at http://www.microraion.com :D

we posted our photos in a separate article, mine are taken with the Contax IIIa and the 50/1.5 Jupiter-3, hers with my Kiev-2A and the 50/2 Jupiter-8 (and a yellow filter)

Cheers,
Max ;)

I just thought that in sympathy, I would attach one of my earliest IIIa pictures. Sonnar 50/1.5. I love that camera! Great picture! Keep them coming!

Max, those are wonderful photographs! I admire you for getting out with the IIIa right away and doing such great work. So far I've just done a test roll with my new IIIa. So I'll take your work as a reminder not to let mine sit on the shelf.

Best, Michael

Sorry for the delays in replying!

Vics: your photo is awesome!
Michael: I'm looking forward to see your photos soon!
W. : Thanks so much for your enthusiastic feedback!! I always try hard to have acceptable photos. Seems I've really got a winner combo here! :D Now I have to compose  ;)

Cheers to all!
Max

great stuff, Max! here's a shot from my IIa and Sonnar 50/1.5 (the Jupiter clone ;) ) before the camera and lens went to stay with Henry Scherer for a bit

Mmmm... I would've guessed that it was taken with a 1.5 lens! Congrats, the photo is really lovely, I like the tonal range !
