Last of my whirlwind Europe visit. A day in Copenhagen. How anyone spends more than a day in this beautiful city is beyond me - must be the most expensive city in the world! $15 for a beer really hurts any Aussie 🙂

Hope my travel shots have helped those looking at the 21mm - a perfect lens for a city walk about.

Nice pictures. The answer to your question is simple. It is because we only pay 60% in taxes (progressive tax, highest bracket) and 25% in VAT - that leaves plenty of room for beer money 😉

Judging from your pictures you bought your fuel it in the most expensive place, though, and, believe it or not, Oslo in Norway is even more expensive (and even more beautiful) - but you get a barrel of oil with your beer there 😀

Cheers,

John.... I've been tempted to buy the VC 15mm for its wide angle capabilities. However, looking through these pics, seem that the 21mm will do just fine on the R-D1 for general travel photography.

Did you go through the same 'dilemma' before choosing the 21mm?

Basically we flew into Copenhagen in order to travel across to Malmo in Sweden. It seemed a good opportunity to see both cities. We stayed at the airport Hilton and caught the Metro into town - so we probably did go straight to the most expensive part. Beautiful open city and I loved the many bicycles in use - very flat and perfect for riding. I imagine that many people would not even bother to own a car? Oh, and did I mention the abundance of beautiful women everywhere! John

I suppose I did consider the 15mm for a moment but was keen to get something around the 35mm once the crop was taken into account and I'm glad I did. Maybe the 15mm next 🙂
