the intro page is particularly odd/entertaining.. and the rest of the site is done in a very unpolished way that is very hard to do well, but they did a great job

it changes slightly every time you reload the intro.. and don't forget to use the red button on the lower right

also, you gotta love the names of some of their products...

The Skivvy, The Dreadful Embarrassment, The Salary Sacrifice, The Soupansalad, The Bee's Knees

and last but not least, Free Holy Bean Bags
here's the description: "I been bagged so much I feel like a bean chucked out the window by Jack’s Mum. Stalked by giant white bean bag fillers in my dreams, I need to lie down in myself"

ironically, the Free Holy Bean Bag costs $150

A bit weird? I think "a lot weird" is a better description!

I actually love their site. I don't know if they still do it, but it used to be when you clicked on a bag for details, and that bag was out of stock, there was a little picture of a hand giving you the middle finger to indicate that you couldn't buy the bag. Every time I saw it, I was simultaneously insulted and forced to laugh: Anyone with the balls to give you the finger on a commercial website deserves your business! 😀

That is the mosted f-ed site ever. To see their bags, you'd have to download a zipped copy of their catalog!? I don't know anything about Crumpler bags, I don't think I'm interested now..

I didn't have any trouble looking at their bags online.. it's not the most intuitive site to navigate, but the products are all visible (at least as thumbnails) right there.. you've gotta drag the animal across the screen from the lower left to the right in order to get to the options

and make sure you have your sound turned on really loud

Despite the wierd website, they make great bags. I have a Six Million Dollar Home for my Canon 1D mkII rig - the great thing about it is that it doesn't LOOK like a camera bag. People see me with the thing on my shoulder and think it's just a messenger bag, even though it has $8k worth of camera gear in it.

As a side note, I was able to visit their booth at Outdoor Retailer last week (industry tradeshow) - the booth was cool! Shaggy fake grass covered the floor, and the rest of the booth was build completely from card board. The walls were custom made to have cubbies that showed-off the product, and the occasional cubby had a wire mesh in front of it to create a 'cage' for random stuffed animals. It was a nice change of pace after seeing a bunch of vanilla tradeshow booths from the 'big' brands.

Hi Joe - I have a 4MDH and I love it. It's great for one RF body w/ lens plus 2-3 lenses, or two RF bodies with lenses mounted. Room for film, filters, pen, etc, too. I really doesn't look like a camera bag either, as mentioned by Uncle Bill.

the ebay seller Photococan often has great deals on Crumpler bags.

Be carefull with pickpockets and crumpler bags, at least in germany! Those bags are posh and you can expect them containing posh gadgets like iPods, iBooks and mobile phones.

Oh, and when you're on the crumpler website, don't forget to pull the chain!

I find the crumpler site a right pain.

Having said that I've just bought 2 of 'em from a TK Maxx store in the UK.

Not the latest models, they are the McBains Baby (medium) and the Weenie.

The McBain is actually a laptop bag but is big enough to hold my G1 plus 28,45 & 90 lenses in wraps. One front zip pocket under the flap holds film, keys etc.
The bag lies flat against the body and although the base of the bag isn't flat it is getting a little that way due to use.

The Weenie is a messenger type bag. One big compartment with 3 inner pockets to the front of the bag, one with velcro fastening. I put in my Hadley insert to hold my gear, with film, batteries, keys, drink bottle etc in the inner pockets.
The hadley insert still leaves room for me to slip in my monopod if need be (though the end does stick out a little).

The last thing I needed really was more bags but the prices were good.
McBains - £14.99
Weeenie - £19.99

I bought my FuxDeluxe at a Crumpler store in Soho (the one in New York City), so I could be sure everything fit. I use it for my 4x5" Tech V kit. Very comfortable bag. I've carried it on day hikes.

I just got a 5 Million Dollar Home Crumpler bag. Here it is with a Canonet, Nikon S3 with 105 lens attached and 35 and 50 lenses on the side. Really nice bag but it is smaller inside than you'd think.

We used to cary crumpler bags at the store, but we found they were to big for what you could hold. If there is such a thing as too much padding they have it! We finaly stopped carrying them after we had to sell them at cost just to get rid of the things. Nice looking and great style, but I just wish they would cut back on the actual padding so you can fit more in.

I have the Crumpler Keystone backpack. It holds two MP bodies with lenses mounted and 5 lenses. I also carry extra film in one side pocket and the Leica table top tri-pod in the other side. There is enough room to pack my small Sony laptop in there as well. Not bad really but by that time the pack is way heavy.

I've got a 'budgie smuggler' and you're right about the over padding, there stiff as hell as well. I guess at least they are built to last!

Not good if you want to be inconspicuous though, they scream "expensive gadget bag!"
