I just received a CV 25/4 lens today from Sockeyed (thanks!) and wondered if it could be used on my Zorki 3M. It's recessed somewhat deeply but I don't think it would catch in the shutter curtain. Just wanted to make sure though! Anyone tried one of these on a Zorki?

I have one, often on a FED2e, Gene. Cool little lens. I'm still learning how to use it. It is no where near as deeply recessed as a Jupiter 12.

Glad it arrived, Gene! I can't imagine why it wouldn't work. The Jupiter-12, with a much bigger butt, works on the Zorkis.
Maybe just set the camera on B, open the shutter, and mount the lens. You should be able to see the clearance then.

Frank, sockeyed, thanks for the replies!

I thought of that, but my Zorki is part way through a roll of film so I thought I'd ask the experts!sockeyed said:Glad it arrived, Gene! I can't imagine why it wouldn't work. The Jupiter-12, with a much bigger butt, works on the Zorkis.

You can use the CV 25/4 on your Russians without problem. I have the same lens and used it on FED-2s, FED-5s and a Zorki-4 succesfully.

The only CV lenses which won't fit my Feds are my 15mm, but only because it won't line up properly and the hood then vignettes. The petal hood on the 28 Ultron can be rotated so it lines up correctly. Unfortunately that on the 15 is fixed! Also the 90 as it does not have a full R/F cam on it just a tag which jams on the cameras triangular coupling. I use the 25 and 21 a lot with my Fed Zaria.
