Just curious if anyone knows how many R2 bodies were made in the "S" variation with the Nikon S mount.
They never seem to come up for auction on ebay, or appear for sale at KEH. So I assume either the Nikon-shooters using them love them too much to ever part with them, or the number produced was exceedingly small.
Anyone?

I dont have exact numbers for the R2S/R2C - but the R2S was most likely made in a batch of 500-600 and the R2C, probably less than 300.

I've got 2 R2S's, one "normal" # 100975, and the other one is a NHS #102138.
Don't know the serials for the R2C.
If Mr. K-San start it on 100000 then... maybe a thousand?

Mine arrived earlier this week from Stephen Gandy. I bought the NHS body minus the 50mm lens. No box or papers, but it came complete with strap, manual and batteries.
I've not yet had a chance to shoot with it, and while I don't think its built to the same high standard as my S3s and SP, its focusing spot is vastly brighter and easier to focus than any of my Nikon's. I'll try it out this weekend.
And once again, Stephen's service and communication were excellent.
